| This is a design driven by site. Canal houses typically hope to focus their casual lifestyle to the fishing boat and to the water, but often only look across it to a like minded neighbor looking back. This design is staggered and bowed along a curving bulkhead so as to shift the views to the diagonal vistas down the canal. In the process, a maritime imagery and scale is created. Cast-in-place concrete columns and entry portal imply a stone classicism while providing a more storm resistant structure. |
